Parma 0-0 AC Milan

The return from injury of Brazilian playmaker Kaka failed to lift AC Milan as they faltered in their charge up the Serie A ladder with a goalless draw at Parma.

The Rossoneri’s second draw in four days is far from ideal preparation for Wednesday’s titanic Champions League clash with the Gunners.

Parma sit precariously close to the drop zone but were full value for the point as Milan’s problems in front of goal were underlined by a tally of just three shots on target from 16 attempts.

Kaka’s return could not have come soon enough with South American colleagues Ronaldo and Alexandre Pato sidelined. Carlo Ancelotti’s team are adrift of fourth-placed Fiorentina and are struggling to find any consistency.

Both sides had chances to register during the 90 minutes with Filippo Inzaghi the most profligate for the visitors. The late arrival of Paolo Maldini, making his 1000th professional appearance, did little but bring a hint of sentiment to what was a dour occasion.
