Walcott nets in England Under-21s friendly

Theo Walcott transferred his superb club form to the international stage with a match- winning performance for England Under-21s against Wales on Thursday night. The Arsenal forward struck midway through the first half after a tidy exchange of passes with Tom Huddlestone; the goal-maker having earlier converted from the penalty spot. The reason for the friendly fixture was to celebrate Wales U21's 100th match since their first game - against England in 1976. Nevertheless the presence of senior managers, Fabio Capello and John Toshack, made for an exciting match.
