Arsenal face Spurs in Carling Cup Semi-Final

Arsenal will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Semi-Finals of the Carling Cup for the second successive season.

The North London rivals were paired together at Wednesday night's draw. Arsenal will host the first leg at Emirates Stadium on January 8 or 9 with the return leg at White Hart Lane on January 22 or 23.

Arsenal beat Tottenham 5-3 on aggregate at the Semi-Final stage last season. Spurs led 2-0 in the first leg at White Hart Lane but were pegged back to 2-2 thanks to a brace from Julio Baptista.

Emmanuel Adebayor fired Arsenal ahead in the second leg at the Emirates but Mido forced extra time before goals from Jeremie Aliadiere and Tomas Rosicky took the Gunners through to the Final.

Chelsea, who beat Liverpool in the last Quarter-Final on Wednesday night, will face Everton in the last four of the competition.
